Mixology: EFFEN’s Cucumber Vodka Cocktails

Now that I’ve had a bit of a chance to try a few different cocktails containing the EFFEN Cucumber Vodka I have to say that it works surprisingly well with almost any juice based cocktail.  Here are a few of the recipes EFFEN recommends that are designed “To demonstrate its versatility and unique flavor.”  For the less experienced bar back, the Bloody Mary with the cocktail is very interesting and refreshing.  However, if you’re feeling more adventurous give the second recipe a try.  According to David Nepove, the National President of the U.S. Bartender’s Guild, “The crisp flavor of the cucumber and the smoothness of EFFEN’s Super Premium vodka have been married perfectly in this modern, balanced spirit…it adds an unexpected layer of flavor to your favorite cocktails.”  Either way, definitely give one of these a try and prepare to be unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised!


EFFEN Cucumber Bloody Mary

2 parts EFFEN Cucumber Vodka

2 Basil Leaves, torn

4 parts Tomato Juice

¾ part Bloody Mary Seasoning

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice and shake.  Pour into a serving glass with ice and garnish with a lime wheel and fresh basil leaf.



EFFEN Cucumber Coconut Palm (created by David Nepove)

1 ½ parts EFFEN Cucumber Vodka

1 ½ parts Coconut Water

1 Small Kiwi or Half of a Large Kiwi, peeled

¾ parts Lemon Juice

¾ parts Simple Syrup

Combine ingredients, squeezing or muddling the kiwi, into a cocktail shaker.  Add ice and shake.  Strain and pour into glass with ice.
