Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Whiskey
If you don’t mind, I’m going to gush for a moment. Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Whiskey is without a doubt my all time favorite spirit. Now, it’s not just an opinion, but rather a fact that literally almost everyone in the world is well aware of Jack Daniel’s clout as the quintessentially flawless benchmark whiskey. The three very distinct and different concoctions created by Jack Daniels are known far and wide as the epitome of pure excellence among both new drinkers and whiskey connoisseurs alike. Now don’t get me wrong, the Number 7 brand is fantastic, the Gentleman’s Jack is even better, but if you really want to please a discerning palate you have to sample the best of the best, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel.
When you pour the proverbial ambrosia of whiskies into its fortunate glass you’ll notice the faultless amber hue and sweet smoky nose. This spirit’s rarely matched quality can be attributed to its finessed maturation within the hallowed halls of the Jack Daniel’s distilleries warehouse. Giving the angel’s share a run for its money, the consistent and long duration of breathing within its lone charred white oak barrel eventually results in an unparalleled product that oozes expertise and perfection. Many companies have, and I’m sure will, continue to attempt the development of a similar perfect profile. In my mind however, all have tried and failed. Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel defines what high end, smooth and silky whiskey should be. With its clean and sweet flavors that dramatically develop into rich and smoky silhouettes, it’s hard to not revel in the storied tradition of this legendary spirit. As far as paring it with a cigar goes, this is what I consider a non-specific elevator, simply put, it makes all cigars across all distributors just that much better. Be it a Ecuadorian Connecticut, or a Nicaraguan Maduro they will all benefit from the sweet, smooth and dynamic profile offered in JD’s magnus opus. If you haven’t done yourself the honor of trying one of the absolute best products out there, then run, don’t walk to your nearest local watering hole and order a highball of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, neat. Feel free to write me and tell me I’m wrong, but I can almost guarantee you I won’t be!
