Ashton cigars apparently has been hard at work lately on a brand new cigar line. Over the last week I have received multiple pieces of information confirming a new cigar with an alleged soft release date for Father’s Day. After that the cigar should go into full production and will be shipping year round. While there are no official names or blend descriptors just yet, we were able to confirm the following things:
First, we have learned that the chief target of this new Ashton line will be geared toward taking on a cigar like the Fuente Opus X. We also know that ironically enough the cigar will be made by Fuente for Ashton, and the goal is to create a cigar that can go up against the Opus X and Ashton ESG while being affordable. As a high level source in Ashton put it, the new cigar should have the “earthiness of an ESG and the spice of an Opus.”
As of right now, little else has been divulged other than that we can expect this cigar around Father’s day next year and that full production, most likely will begin in earnest after the IPCPR. Stay tuned in the days and months ahead as we try to find out more about this mysterious new rival to the Opus X!
