If you have ever tried either the Pardon anniversary 64 or the anniversary 26 then I’m sure you have a pretty good idea that this review will contain more than a few positive remarks. The Pardon SI-15 is the limited edition version of the anniversary 64 and was developed as a collaborative effort between Smoke Inn & Padron. Smoke Inn stated the following about the cigar in their press release, “In commemoration of our 15th Anniversary this year, we commissioned the Padron Family to make a special size exclusively for our stores. Jorge Padron’s face lit up when we told him our idea of a 6×60 Anniversary Cigar. What’s better than a Padron Anniversary Cigar, A BIGGER Padron Anniversary Cigar!” Like all anniversary Padron’s, this stick is intense. All of the tobacco used in this series has been aged for at least four years, resulting in a smooth and multifaceted profile. Powerful and bold the SI-15 bowls you over with heavy chocolate and coffee notes that begin to smooth out towards the middle of the stick and become velvety and creamy. I also noticed a bit of complexity as the smoke begins to develop an earthy flavor accompanied by a slight sweetness. The ash burns silky white and rock solid with nearly non-existent burn lines which isn’t all that surprising considering the shear amount of tobacco packed into this stick. The quantity of rich and full smoke that bellows from this cigar is truly incredible. Prepare to become a human chimney. Overall I would tell you to go try one of these just for the uniqueness of the size and the flawless construction, perfect draw and terrific flavor. However, due to the limited production of only 500 boxes and no intention by Padron to ever release a line nationally, good luck ever finding one after they sell out. All in all this was one hell of an experience and don’t feel too left out, you can still find the 1926 and 1964 Anniversary at most brick-and-mortars.
