Its shaping up to be a Perdomo week with our review of the their Champagne Noir yesterday and some new information about their Grand Cru line coming out in July. A few days ago the flyer below was posted on Twitter by Perdomo’s Arthur Kemper. If one looks closely, a few things can be noticed on the flyer about the impending Perdomo release.
The first thing you may notice is that there are two size extensions to the line. Perdomo’s Grand Cru line looks to be a getting a 5×60 and 7×60 which until this point have been unreleased. Also, noticeable is the double maduro wrapper and Sun Grown wrapper. In previous iterations of the Grand Cru lines, Perdomo used a single maduro wrapper, whereas this one is employing a maduro wrapper and binder combination. Also changed is the corojo line for a sun grown version.
The sun grown format is the punched up blend we discussed earlier last month. We don’t have all the details of what has been changed in it, but we have confirmation that it is a beefier mixture and should give the sun grown Grand Cru a little more horsepower.
These adjustments to the Perdomo Grand Cru line should make for an interesting expansion to the line and I for one am excited to see how they smoke, especially the new sun grown format.
