News: Esteban Carreras Working on the “Chupacabra”

Editor’s NoteWINNER ANNOUNCED!!! Congratulations to Illizona for his response (Winner receives a Carreras’ Prize Pack including 3 different Cigars.)

Esteban Carreras, best known for their 187 and 211 lines has been hard at work on their new release which will be officially revealed later on this year. Right now we don’t have a ton of information on it other than that the cigar is so far being called Chupacabra. For those of you who don’t know, the Chupacabra (aka the “Goat Sucker”) is a cryptozoological rockstar of the Americas and has usually been referred to as a creature that is roughly the size of a small bear with spines running down its back. An awe inspiring cryptid to be sure, the Chupacabra makes for an interesting name choice for Esteban’s next line.

The only other tidbit we have besides the working name at the moment is that the cigar will feature a shaggy foot which is a nod towards its hirsute and feral nature. We of course will keep you updated as more becomes known, but for now we are going to offer a three stick contest to help you, our audience, become more informed about the great products of Esteban Carreras. Read on to find out how you can win a 3-pack of cigars from Esteban Carreras.

*****Contest Rules & How to Enter: Entering the contest is simple. All you have to do is leave a comment in the comment section about what your favorite Esteban Carreras cigar is, or what you think about naming their next cigar the Chupacabra. One comment will be randomly selected to win a 3-pack of Esteban Carreras cigars, including a 211, 187, and a 10 Anos, with the winner to be announced next week. You can enter as many times as you want, but only one will win, so good luck! Contest ends on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012****

I’ve never tried any cigars from this line. The Chupacabra name is pretty cool though – the shaggy foot a good concept idea. Cheers

I’m gonna say the 211 would be my go to E C stick if I had one.

You may need to google “cryptozoological”, but to find a good every smoke you need only enter the humidor of your favorite smoke shop. I’d suggest an EC 211. I’d suggest the Habano, but those are for me.

Living in a predominately hispanic area, less than a mile from the US/Mexico border, and often referred to as “pinch me, gringo loco”, I remember the hoopla of the Chuppacabras.. I usually play my part as gringo by making english words into spanisha “buenos nachos” etc.. However, my favorite has always been, “buenos chuppacabras”. I remember making up songs to sing to my grandchildren, one of which includes the word chuppacabras, and how it tastes like chichen when cooked on the grill. My 4 year old grandson knows the made up lyrics, and can recite them.. Keep the name, and hopefully the band on the cigar will look similar to the art depicted above.. Definately have to get me some, if not for the humor factor alone, to at least pass out to friends that smoke gars, and know me.. Thanks for the info..
