News Around the Industry: Namakubi Ecuador and Alec Bradley Provides a PSA
Recently Davidoff reps have started to circulate information and take orders on some upcoming releases. Of interest to us here at Cigar Brief is the announcement of a new Room 101 Namakubi Ecuador. Apparently the Namakubi has been so successful that it will be seeing a secondary release with a twist.
According to the promotional materials that retailers have been privy too, the Namakubi will be a cross between the original Namakubi release and that of the limited OSOK release. The wrapper and binder are allegedly set to be that of the OSOK release and the filler will be that of the original Namakubi.
Alec Bradley Gives a Public Servie Announcement:
In other news, its not often a Cigar Manufacturer sends a letter out to their retailers advising caution with one of their products, but such a rare occurrence has happened this week. Alec Bradley recently started shipping their new Black Market Filthy Hooligan. Apparently the sensitive wrapper leaf in combination with the winter weather has lead to enough of the cigars combusting prematurely that George Sosa, VP of Sales at Alec Bradley, has issued the following warning:
“Candela Wrappers are super fragile…..
Because of the cold weather in transit….Tell the accounts to let the
cigar settle for 2 days prior to hitting shelves !!!!!!!!
If they do not do this….wrapper can burst !!!!!!!!!
So as a public service announcement to our CB readership out there, if you have bought a Black Market Filthy Hooligan recently give it a few days of rest in your humidor, before attempting to light up.
