Urbano is a new boutique brand that has really broken through the proverbial wall that has been created by the litany of new upstarts and larger boutique companies. In a landscape littered with higher tax laws in most states and the ever skyrocketing price of good smokes, Matt Urbano has developed a world class cigar that can easily compete with any of the big boys. The best part is that his not only competing, but undercutting them by retailing his premium cigars at absurdly low prices designed for the blue collar everyman. As if Urbano hadn’t done enough yet to keep our humidor filled for less, he has just announced that he will be selling a new series of un-banded bundles in sets of twenty-five at a price point that I jokingly had to remind him needs to make some kind of return. Pricing for the public has not been officially released yet, but believe me when I say this is one hell of a product for really next to nothing. The new sticks are all handmade long filler cigars from the Dominican Republic and come in a variety of sizes. Shockingly he even created a bundle of 6×60’s that will come in sets of 20! Available with Sumatran, Connecticut, Maduro, Corojo and Habano wrappers there is no shortage of profiles to chose from. Essentially the only difference between the new bundles and his premium incarnation is the fact that the tobacco is not triple fermented and aged. This new venture was done with the mindset of allowing major retailers the opportunity to band the cigars themselves and sell them as their own. At the end of the day it’s an understatement to say that Matt is extremely passionate and cares about his customers greatly. Keep an eye out for these and grab a bundle as soon as you can. At his prices this one is a definite no brainer!
