Gifts For Cigar Smokers – 2011

Gifts For Cigar Smokers – 2011

The Holiday season is upon on us and it’s time to open up (willing or unwillingly) our wallets and do some gift-giving and shopping. We have compiled a list of gifts that would be perfect for any cigar aficionado, cigar smoker in training, or just anyone who might enjoy the occasional smoke. In making our “gifts for cigar smokers” suggestions we kept a couple of things in mind while shifting through the endless options.

The first one is uniqueness because we wanted to make sure the gift, or idea behind it, is memorable. Secondly, we focused on price for very obvious reasons – heck anyone can spend a bundle and give something cool. Finally we focused on the idea that this gift is going to someone totally awesome, after all they are a cigar smoker. Now on to the “gifts for cigar smokers” in no particular order:

Key Bottle Opener
I don’t know a single cigar aficionado who hasn’t enjoyed an evening by pairing his (or her) smoke with their favorite bottled beverage. Now you can ensure they always have a bottle opener nearby with this handy key bottle opener. Not only will this not take up anymore pocket space than their regular set of keys they carry around, but it can also be cut into an extra key for the house (or whatever).

The key bottle opener, as handy as it may be, will only cost you $11.

Carbon Fiber Hip Flask and Cigar Case
Sure to make a big impression is the unique upscale Stainless Steel 6 oz Hip flask and cigar case, which features a state of the art Carbon Fiber inlay housed in a handsome black wooden box. Your cigar smoker will be able to carry a little bit of love into his next dry party (or a little bit of something he doesn’t want to share with the rest) and protect his cigar in style. Not to mention it would make a super cool set if you purchase it with the lighter below.

Big impressions don’t have to come with a large price tag, this will set you back $60.

XIKAR Carbon Fiber Lighter
You want to know the truth about most cigar lighters? The truth is that with enough use it’s going to break at some point or another. That is why we suggest you pick up a nice XIKAR with a life time warranty. No matter the cause, length of time owned (aka abused, or the situation, XIKAR will be willing to trade you for a new one. Retailers also have the ability to accept it for full purchase credit and put that towards an upgrade to another XIKAR lighter. I suggest the XIKAR Carbon Fiber Lighter because it’s classy, will never go out of style and the finish will never wear off.

Purchase the last lighter you will ever own for only $85.

Coach Passport Holder
Every cigar smoker on the face of the planet would love to visit their favorite tobacco fields and factories in Nicaragua, Colombia, Honduras, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. You know what you need to get there? A passport. The leather passport holder by Coach will protect their document and allow them to travel in style. Coach leather will take the abuse of many trips and ensure our little world traveler’s important documents are very well protected.

Despite the brand name and high quality leather the Coach passport holder only cost $78.

Pandora Subscription
One of the great joys of smoking a cigar is just simply sitting back and relaxing. A Pandora subscription will allow the cigar smoker to listen to their favorite kind of music without the interruption of commercials and the possibility of being introduced to new artists. The service can run on many entertainment systems such as; any Apple device, modern car radio system, and any Android device.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving for a full 12 months at the low cost of $36.

Savoy Macassar Large Humidor
I have no idea why a lot of cigar smokers skimp on the storage of their prized possessions. Maybe it’s because they figure a Tupperware container can do the job just as well – which it does for the most part. However this option looks really tacky and if you’re going to get into the hobby why not do it right? A Savoy humidor has a great company behind it, it’s available in many different wood finishes and it will make the cigar collector proud to pull out his stash in front of all his friends.

The large Savoy Macassar humidor holds 100 cigars and sets you back a paltry $150.

Stinky Ashtray
With Stinky’s big bowl you and your friends can smoke all evening without stopping to go empty the ashtray. Its bent stirrups are the right size to accommodate all sizes from cigarettes to cigars well over an 80 ring gauge. When you momentarily place a lit cigar in the stirrups it will not come in contact with the ashes or debris, thanks to the design of this ashtray. The polished stainless steel finish is completely heat resistant and can easily wipe clean.

Now gift the Stinky Ashtray to your cigar smoker for $30.

Quo Vadis Journal
The Quo Vadis journal (6×9) is one of the most luxurious journals anyone can ever own. The cover is soft and supple, the paper is thick and won’t bleed and most importantly it will keep you looking like a professional when you jot down your notes and/or thoughts. A cigar smoker will love this for two reasons: One – it will allow them to take note of the cigars they are smoking (review, remember what they like, or didn’t like, etc). Secondly, maybe they will use it to write down their personal thoughts (or business ideas, reminders, etc) as they relax and smoke. This beautiful journal also comes with a back sleeve that does a great job of saving cigar bands.

A perfect cigar keeping journal doesn’t have to cost a lot – $25.

Cocktail Bitters
There’s no question that the folks at Fee Brothers know their bitters! The family owned company opened in 1863 and is currently in its fourth generation of manufacturing top quality cocktail mixes, bitters, syrups and other beverage ingredients. This exclusive six-bottle sampler set gives you all of the incredible flavors your cigar smoker needs to create innovative and exciting cocktails to pair with their cigar. With bottles of West Indies Orange, Peach, Lemon, Grapefruit, Mint, and Old Fashioned bitters in your arsenal of ingredients, you will always be ready to raise the bar.

Adds endless options to their drinks for the low affordable cost of $52.

Cigar Gift Card
Well this has to be one of the most obvious options. Don’t try to guess what cigar they might like – maybe they want to try something new, maybe they are saving up for something big or maybe it’s just nice to let them make their own decision. For any of these reasons, and more, you should stop by your local brick and mortar cigar retailer and pick up a gift card. This will allow them to be in control of their own fate and it will give them a reason to get out of the house. If you don’t have a retailer nearby then opt for a cigar gift card from one of the large online cigar guys.
