Mixology: Red, White, and Blue
Looking to ring in the fourth with some patriotic drinks? Then look no further than our classic mixology of the Burgundy (Red), the mojito (white), and the Blue Canadian (admittedly the Blue Canadian isn’t quite as American, but it fits the bill, so what the heck!). So without further adieu we give you three classic drinks that will be a splash at any summer party:
The Burgundy (Red)
1.50 parts Canadian Club Classic 12
4 parts ginger ale
Splash of cranberry juice
Directions: Build cocktail over ice in a rocks glass. Stir.
Mojito (White)
1.5 parts light rum
2 sprigs of fresh mint (approx 10 mint leaves)
1 tsp. sugar
Juice of half a lime, plus an extra wedge for garnish
Club soda
Directions: Muddle the mint leaves with sugar and fresh lime juice in a sturdy, tall glass. Fill the glass with ice, add rum and stir. Top off glass with club soda. Garnish with lime wedge.
0.75 part CC
0.75 part Vodka
0.75 part Blue Curacao
3 parts pineapple juice
1 part sour mix
Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain over fresh ice in a high ball or hurricane glass. Garnish with a pineapple/cherry stack.
So thats it, three great drinks that help you harness your inner patriot. From everyone here at Cigar Brief we wish you a happy Fourth of July! Remember to drink responsibly and to enjoy the freedom of smoking some great cigars while we still have that freedom!
