As any true drinker knows this is by no means a new or even rediscovered recipie, however, due to the fact that it is without a doubt one of man’s greatest creations I think it’s only fair that it gets its due. The Irish Car Bomb is a college classic that has worked its way all over the world. In fact, while I was in Irelend I discreetly asked if orderig an Irish Car bomb was distastastful by Irish standards and the response I got says it all; “Everyone one from everywhere ordres them when it’s time to really get to drinking, the only difference is ours is better because the Guinness is fresher.” It might soud like national pride but, I can assure you he was right. The Guinness in Ireland is far different and superior in everyway when compared to it’s far traveling bretheren. So if you haven’t been in the bar scene for a while or just somehow never came accross the ambrosia of beer based mixed drinks here you go:
– 3/4 pint of Guinness Stout
– 1/2 oz of Baileys Irish Cream
– 1/2 oz of Jameson Irish Whiskey
Combine the Bailey’s and Jameson in a shot glass, layering the Bailey’s on the bottom. Pour the Guinness into a pint glass or beer mug 3/4 of the way full and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug.
