Mixin’ it Up: The Acai Martini

One of my favorite things to do as a bartender is to create a new beverage. Working at a five-diamond resort, I’m fortunate enough to have a seemingly limitless supply of flavored vodkas, liqueurs, whiskeys, tequilas, rums, and the list goes on. Here is a cocktail recipe that I came up with one night when I was supposed to be working. I think I will call it the Acai martini (I like how that flows off the tongue!).






  • 2 ounces of Van Gogh acai blueberry vodka
  • 1/2 ounce of cointreu
  • 1 ounce of lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce of simple syrup
  • lemon twist garnish


Mixin’ it:

  • combine all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice
  • shake with passion!
  • pour into a chilled martini glass
  • garnish with the lemon twist


Sweet, refreshing, and delicious, the acai martini is yet another beverage that will impress the ladies ( Trust me it worked ). Drink well my friends!

Combine half an ounce of peach schnapps with half an ounce of midori melon liqueur in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake then strain into a shot glass and add a splash of Tabasco sauce. It should taste like the traditional Mexican chili covered candies.   Enjoy!
