Press Release

Hello Friends,

We all know the expression, “good things come in small packages.” Well, it’s never been more true than when it comes to making fine single malt whisky.  Of course, I’m talking about Laphroaig® Quarter Cask Scotch Whisky.

laphroaig-quarter-caskBut what is it that makes Quarter Cask so special?  Most importantly, it matures in smaller, 19th century style quarter casks.  That means the maturing spirit within gets more contact with the wood, giving Quarter Cask its full-bodied complexity and gentle sweetness.

Another quality of the quarter cask is that “breathes” much more deeply than standard-sized casks, drawing in more of the local sea air.  This is especially critical because it’s what gives Quarter Cask that wonderful Islay sea-spray that we all know and love.

The result of all this craftsmanship is a fine, rare single malt that starts out soft and sweet, before giving way to classic Laphroaig® peatiness.

You can learn even more about this delicious golden spirit here.

And if you’re looking for a place to find the soft sweetness, velvety feel and classic peat smoke that is Laphroaig® Quarter Cask Scotch Whisky.

Just finished my first bottle of this Scotch. Very good, though I still prefer the Ardbeg 10-year for a smokey dram at a decent price, probably because ti’s a little sweeter than the Laphroaig Quarter Cask.

I’m a fan of the Ardbeg as well. I grabbed a dram as a gift not long ago.
